2022 Tackling Trauma Conference will feature the impacts of trauma on individuals, families, the workplace and the community. This will include presentations from agencies and trauma experts addressing trauma and bringing awareness and education to mainstream society. We are pleased to introduce you to our speakers.

PRESENTER: Dr. Kathleen Thompson


SESSION TITLE: Building Resiliency through Critical Incident Self-Care for Crisis/First Responders and Human Resources.

November 3rd: Conference Closing Speaker- 1:45pm – 2:30pm

Dr. Kathleen Thompson is a Critical Incident Responder with LifeWorks and Homewood Health. She has been working on the front lines in supporting the mental health of First Responders and Human Resources Professionals throughout the pandemic. As well, Dr. Thompson is the Co-Chair of the National Network for Mental Health Inclusion. The NNMHI  acts to advocate, educate, and offer expertise and resources to increase the health and well-being of the community of Canadians with the lived experience of mental health issues.

Dr. Thompson has a background in civil society and human rights leadership,  as well as in creating collaborative public policy initiatives and research partnerships with industry, governments, academia, civil society and the United Nations. She is an inspiring and compassionate trauma-informed mental health therapist; grief therapist; strengths-based therapist; community developer; interim and crisis leader; researcher and health policy analyst.
